Philanthropy 101

November 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Philanthropy 101 🤲🫂

Philanthropy 101 is a first-of-its-kind event in the region, crafted specifically for emerging leaders and early-career professionals who want to make a difference – but may not know where to start. The evening will feature a dynamic panel of local experts, including a philanthropist, a nonprofit leader, and a wealth advisor, offering real-world perspectives on the why, how, and impact of giving at any stage in life.

The discussion will be centered around three key themes:

  • Defining Philanthropy – Challenging traditional assumptions and expanding what it means to give.
  • How to Afford Philanthropy – Exploring accessible ways to give, no matter your income.
  • How to Give as You Grow – Understanding how charitable habits and strategies can evolve over time.

In addition to the panel discussion, the evening will include a dedicated time for networking and meaningful connections among attendees – fostering relationships that support personal growth, community involvement, and shared values.

“Philanthropy” may sound like something reserved for wealthy, “mature” adults, but that’s not at all the case. Volunteerism, fundraising, spreading awareness, & sending a check are all different forms of Philanthropy. Learn from lifelong leaders in the greater Grand Forks community about how they started and why they continue to give.
This event ran in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, & region. Philanthropy 101 is open to the public and free: Registration REQUIRED! Learn more about the Community Foundation: https://www.gofoundation.org/
