About
A group of 20- and 30-somethings met in October 2002 to form a group where they could network with others like them in Greater Grand Forks and, in doing that, help retain young professionals in the area’s work force. The founders of GGFYP believed that YPs want more out of their community than simply jobs and places to live. YPs want culture and excitement. They want progressive thinking and the ability to connect with and influence their community.
Today GGFYP is a community of more than 60 members and our membership continues to grow each year. Our mission statement is “We enhance our community, create connections, and invest in each other.” And that’s what we do.
We plan some two dozen events throughout the year for our members to network and learn. Through our committees, our members are able to get involved in both GGFYP and the community.
About Greater Grand Forks
Greater Grand Forks is made up of two cities — Grand Forks and East Grand Forks — joined by a river with a combined population of 64,000 and growing. We’ve got the feel of a small town and the amenities of a city. We have:
- A vibrant downtown district full of restaurants, bars, theaters and shops.
- The Greenway, a 2,200-acre riverside park featuring bike paths, snowmobile trails, disc golf and golf courses, a swimming pool, a dog park and plenty of natural scenery.
- A premiere entertainment and convention facility, the Alerus Center.
- The Taj Mahal of hockey arenas, the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
