Virtual Cooking Class with Ely’s Ivy Chef, Scott Franz

GGFYP and Ely’s Ivy are teaming up to bring you a one of a kind online cooking class with Chef Scott Franz.

Join us on a Zoom call to cook a meal alongside Chef Scott Franz. We will provide you with the grocery list to prepare for the online event. Cooking will begin at 6:00 pm on November 30th.

The cooking class will take place via Zoom.


Scott and Rachel Franz, Own and operate Ely’s Ivy in downtown Grand Forks ND. As a husband and wife team Scott is the Chef and Rachel oversees the bar program and front of house operations. Their focus is showcasing the best ingredients the region has to offer, by working with local farmers, rancher, and artisans, breweries and distilleries.

Scott Franz was born and raised in Grand Forks ND. Starting his culinary journey at age seventeen at The River bend Golf and supper club in east grand forks ND. Moved to Colorado in his early 20’s and worked at the ptarmigan country club and the Ft Collins country club. Eventually he moved back and took a job as executive chef at the Grand Forks Country Club in 2004. In 2006 Scott helped open the Toasted Frog in Grand Forks as the executive chef, co owner and culinary director. Then in years following helped open the Bismarck “Frog” and Fargo “Frog”.

In Early 2017 Scott resigned from Toasted Frog group to open Ely’s Ivy with his wife Rachel. They opened their door late November in the Old Sanders location in downtown grand forks.  They wanted to open a restaurant with a Farm to table focus, with ethics and sustainability in mind.
